African-Rural Interventions Initiative

“Restoring dignity and creating opportunities for Africa’s most vulnerable communities”

About us

Who We Are

This journey started in 2012 with Train A Child Today (TACT), Africa Rural Interventions Initiative (Africa-RII) began as a response to the educational and socio-economic challenges faced by underserved communities in Nigeria by providing school supplies to primary school students from rural communities.

With a deep belief in restoring human dignity through education, skills and mentorship programmes as empowerment strategy, Africa-RII has grown from providing school supplies to primary and secondary school students to establishing a Community Resource Center in Ilora—a safe space for learning, skill acquisition, and mentorship.
Since 2019, Africa-RII has expanded its impact through annual free summer schools, JAMB and university tuition scholarship programs, and youth-focused career mentorship, gender advocacy and mentorship, directly addressing literacy gaps, access to higher education, gender inequalities and economic opportunities for students and young adults.

Today, Africa-RII is committed to driving long-term change through education, skill acquisition, healthcare awareness, and economic empowerment programs. By working at the intersection of education, health, economic sustainability, and youth development, Africa-RII continues to create lasting change, empowering individuals and communities to break the cycle of poverty and build a future of opportunity and resilience.
