2023 SUMMER SCHOOL IN PICTURES

The 2023 free Summer School started on the 14th of August, 2023, till the 9th of September, 2023. The summer school took place at Ilora Baptist Grammar School 1. One hundred and five (105) students from public and private secondary schools in Ilora and neighbouring towns. The daily attendees fluctuated between 80 and 90 students during the summer school, and 87 students took part in the final examination at the end of the four-week project. The following subjects were offered during the free summer school programme:

  • Mathematics (mandatory subject for all) 
  • English Languages (mandatory subject for all) 
  • Civic education (mandatory subject for all) 
  • Physics (Students in the sciences) 
  • Chemistry (Students in the sciences) 
  • Economics (Students in the Arts and Commercial Classes) 
  • Further Mathematics (Students in the sciences) 
  • Biology (mandatory subject for all) 
  • Literature in English (primarily students in the Arts but open to all) 
  • Government (Students in the Arts) 
  • Accounting (Students in the Commercials)

  • The following sessions of skill acquisition workshops were offered during the four weeks of summer school:

Our objective of providing temporary job/income opportunities to many volunteers and affecting the local economy of the host community (Ilora) is achieved during the summer school. Through our daily feeding arrangements for the students and the volunteers, we worked with three women and 1 male farmer with food supplies and preparation. The daily food time were as follows:
